In the Community: Sweetser Law Office's Commitment to Spokane and Washington
At Sweetser Law Office, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us for years. Our dedication goes beyond the courtroom—we actively engage in programs that uplift children, families, and future legal professionals across Spokane and the state of Washington. From promoting youth fitness and literacy to honoring local heroes, we are proud to make a positive impact in our community. Here are just a few of the ways we’re involved.
Spokane Chiefs Hockey Team: "Get Out and Play Challenge"
Staying active during the winter months can be tough, but Sweetser Law Office has teamed up with the Spokane Chiefs to inspire kids to keep moving with the Get Out and Play Challenge. This program encourages children to participate in outdoor activities during the colder months, keeping them engaged and active despite the weather.
Participants in the challenge have the chance to win tickets to Spokane Chiefs hockey games, with the top schools and classrooms earning a field trip to meet the Chiefs players in person. It’s a fun and exciting way to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and community spirit among Spokane’s youth.
Wreaths for Fallen Heroes
We are honored to partner with the Spokane Chiefs to sponsor wreaths for the Washington State Fallen Heroes Project, a tribute to the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our state. Each year, we join forces to support this initiative, ensuring that those who have made the ultimate sacrifice are remembered with the respect and gratitude they deserve.
By sponsoring wreaths, Sweetser Law Office helps to ensure that these fallen heroes are never forgotten, while also providing support for their families and loved ones. It’s a small gesture of thanks for the tremendous courage and commitment shown by these individuals.
Spokane Indians Baseball Team: Little Readers Program
Promoting literacy and education is one of our top priorities, and we’re proud to partner with the Spokane Indians on their Little Readers Program. This program brings Spokane Indians players and mascots into the community to encourage reading among underprivileged children. Through interactive visits and reading sessions, the team helps foster a love of books and learning in young minds.
Children who reach their reading goals are rewarded with exciting incentives, such as tickets to games, special events, and more. The Little Readers Program is not just about reaching milestones—it’s about inspiring the next generation of learners and leaders in Spokane.
Gonzaga Law School: Sweetser Closing Argument Competition
As advocates for civil justice, we’re passionate about supporting the education and development of future legal professionals. That’s why we proudly sponsor the Sweetser Closing Argument Competition at Gonzaga Law School, the only competition of its kind in Washington.
This unique event challenges law students to prepare and deliver closing arguments on the spot, testing their ability to think on their feet and present compelling legal arguments. By supporting this competition, we aim to nurture the next generation of trial attorneys while promoting excellence in advocacy and civil justice.
Giving Back to Our Community
At Sweetser Law Office, our work extends far beyond legal representation. We are proud to play an active role in enriching the Spokane community through our partnerships with local organizations and schools. Whether encouraging children to stay active, promoting literacy, honoring our fallen heroes, or supporting legal education, we are dedicated to making a lasting difference.
Together, we can continue to strengthen the community we all call home. If you’d like to learn more about any of these initiatives or how you can get involved, please contact us today.
